Anne Lane Gallery is excited to present Steel Magnolias by Robert Harding, directed by Chris Robinson, August 28 and 29 at 7:30pm!
The production of Steel Magnolias will transform the gallery into Truvy’s beauty salon and bring audiences up close to six women whose humor, resilience, friendship, and honesty have made the story widely beloved.
Set inside Truvy’s beauty salon, the play follows six women whose everyday conversations reveal their humor, loyalty, strength, and passion amongst one another. The story moves easily between laughter and loss, allowing audiences to recognize pieces of their own friendships, families, and communities in the lives onstage.
The gallery plays a vital role in this story. Rather than seperating the audience from the performers on stage, they are placed close to the action - as though they are in the salon with the characters. Steel Magnolias reflects the engaging, emotional, and honest work this cast and crew has put into this play.
